Blurb:  TRUE COLORS is about an eighth grader named Landry Albright who just wants to be one of the interesting girls at school who always have exciting things happening in their lives. She wants to stand out, but also wants to fit in, too. So she gives in when her friends push her into trying out for a teen reality show modeling competition with them. Landry goes in nervous, but impresses the judges enough to make it to the next round. However, her friends get cut and basically “unfriend” her on Monday at school. Landry tries to make new friends, but gets caught up between wanting to be herself and conforming to who her new friends want her to be. Along the way she learns that modeling is nowhere as glamorous as it seems, how to deal with frenemies, a new crush, and that true friends see you for who you really are and like you because of it. – See more at: http://www.krystenlindsay.com/blog/meet-my-character-blog-hop#sthash.PoMwRCYF.dpuf

As part of the tour, we all introduce a character to you. I will be talking about the heroine of my story, Danna Rashba.

1) What is the name of your character? Is he/she fictional or a historic person?

My character is Danna Rashba is a fictionnal character that is based on a bride I actually witnessed arguing with her father out in front of the church in my town.

2) When and where is the story set?

The story is set in Harmony Edge, New York, a fictional small town. The story takes place in contemporary times but Danna is dealing with age old customs that her father wants her to adhere to.

3) What should we know about him/her?

Danna is torn between being her own person and being respectful to her parents, mainly her father. Her father has waited for her to find the right husband and she hasn’t. She becomes engaged to a doctor in her father’s practice that her parents feel is the right husband  for her. Her father feels she is being foolish, looking for fairy tale romances found in the romance novels Danna loves to read. Danna wants to find true love as well as her independence. Unfortunately she makes the leap toward independence on the day of her wedding, running away from the altar.

4) What is the main conflict? What messes up his/her life?

Danna’s main conflict is that she doesn’t want to marry Nagpal, a man that has been arranged for her by her father. She doesn’t love Nagpal. She wants to be in love with her future husband. She wants fireworks. Running away from the altar was a huge step for her to take but while on the run she knows she will have to go back home and make amends with her family. But before she can do that she finds herself stranded for a weekend  with a runaway groom – the guy in the back of the limousine she ‘borrowed’ while trying to escape her nuptials.

5) What is the personal goal of the character?

Danna wants to find her true love. She wants to glow in the light of love and walk down the aisle with a man that makes her see fireworks. She also wants to become an independent woman, not only free to choose her husband but her career path and other life choices as well. These are things that she has seen her mother not attain.

6) Is there a working title for this novel, and can we read more about it?

A Husband for Danna released in August of this year. A follow up story is in the works where you will find out about Danna’s happily ever after as well as watch Danna play matchmaker for a new friend in Harmony Edge. Please visit my website for future information at http://www.christinalorenzen.com

7) When can we expect to see the book?

A Husband for Danna is available through several retailers now. I hope to finish the follow up book by year’s end.
