Welcome to Small Town Saturday! It’s just a little post to share a picture of small town life. Today I’m sharing a picture I took of the local shoe repair. It dawned on me that there are so many small businesses that, once popular,  are now extinct. Do you remember a Singer sewing machine repair shop? How about a Hoover vacuum repair shop? This adorable shoe repair shop brings back such sweet memories.

Feel free to share a special picture of your small town. I’d love to see it!

  1. There used to be a shoe repair shop in every small town when I was a kid. Now the only ones you see are maybe a small outlet in the supermarket.

My dad had his shoes heeled last week. It cost him £13 (around $20) so I wonder how many people bother nowadays!

I remember that, Helen! I loved the smell of leather and watching the shoe cobbler bang on a new heal. I don’t remember what it cost,
but it sure is a sweet memory. Thanks for stopping by and sharing!
